Sweet Fellowship for Seasoned Saints
This past Thursday, local seniors were treated to an afternoon of joy, fellowship, and strawberry delights at the Strawberry Tea Party hosted by New Day PCS and CenterWell. Held at the elegant RustiQue Rose Event Centre in Lafayette, the gathering welcomed guests aged 60 and up for a refreshing time of connection and celebration.
Attendees enjoyed strawberry-inspired treats, iced tea, prizes, and the gift of one another’s company. It was a gathering that beautifully echoed Proverbs 16:31, “Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.” The event honored the wisdom and worth of our elders, reminding us that each season of life holds its own blessings.
Joyful Moments with a Purpose
More than a tea party, this event provided a space for encouragement and community. Many seniors live with limited social interaction, and the importance of events like this cannot be overstated. Psalm 133:1 declares, “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” And dwell in unity they did—laughing, sharing stories, and delighting in God’s goodness.
New Day PCS and CenterWell’s ongoing outreach exemplifies Christ’s command in Galatians 6:2: “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Their commitment to seniors continues to sow seeds of hope and dignity across Acadiana.
Prayer for Our Elders and Caregivers
Gracious Father,
We thank You for the gift of our elders, the wisdom they carry, and the joy they bring. Bless all who organized and attended this event. May each person feel Your nearness, peace, and purpose. Strengthen caregivers and community leaders as they serve in love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
