Louisiana Christian University Announces Public Meetings for Presidential Search Input

CAST NEWS reports that Louisiana Christian University (LCU) has scheduled a series of public meetings to gather input for its search for a new president. The university, located in Pineville, is inviting community members to participate in these discussions, ensuring a transparent and inclusive process. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday in Shreveport at 6:30 p.m. at 8617 Glen Haven Drive. This is the beginning of a series of at least four meetings planned across various cities, with potential for additional dates.

Meeting Schedule and Locations

The university has announced the following meeting dates and locations:

  • Shreveport: Tuesday, 6:30 p.m., 8617 Glen Haven Drive.
  • Pineville: Thursday, Aug. 8, 6:30 p.m., 1140 College Drive, Granberry Conference Room.
  • West Monroe: Tuesday, Aug. 20, 6:30 p.m., 201 Riggs St., Edgewood Building.
  • New Orleans: Tuesday, Aug. 27, 6:30 p.m., 2222 Lakeshore Drive, New Orleans Baptist Association Building.

These meetings provide an opportunity for stakeholders to voice their opinions and contribute to the selection process for the university’s 10th president, marking a significant milestone in its nearly 120-year history.

A Thoughtful and Inclusive Process

LCU is committed to conducting a comprehensive national search, partnering with CarterBaldwin Executive Search, a firm based in Alpharetta, Georgia. This approach reflects Proverbs 15:22, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed,” emphasizing the value of collective wisdom and community involvement.

Building a Future with Shared Vision

The input from these meetings will play a crucial role in shaping the future leadership of LCU. As the university navigates this pivotal transition, it seeks to embody the spirit of unity and collaboration. Romans 12:4-5 reminds us, “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” This verse underscores the importance of each voice in the community, contributing to the greater good.

A Prayer for Guidance and Unity

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Louisiana Christian University and the community it serves. We pray for wisdom and discernment for those involved in the search for a new president. Guide their hearts and minds as they seek a leader who will uphold the values and mission of the university. Bless the participants in these meetings, and may their voices be heard and valued. We ask for Your continued blessings on LCU as it moves forward in faith and unity. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
