Lafayette business brings hope and help to families battling cancer

Faith in Action Through Service
LAFAYETTE, La. — In a world where small acts of kindness can make the biggest difference, Platt Services, a local cleaning company owned by Sonya Platt, is shining a light of hope for families facing cancer. Partnering with the national nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason, Platt Services provides free home cleanings to cancer patients and their families — lifting burdens, restoring dignity, and creating space for healing. As Scripture reminds us, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).

Restoring Strength and Spirit
For many battling cancer, even simple daily tasks can feel overwhelming. Through this partnership, families receive help with the chores that often fall by the wayside during treatment — allowing them to focus on rest, recovery, and faith. “October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” said Platt, “and it’s the perfect time to remind our community that help is available. Many people don’t realize these services are completely free.” Each cleaning is more than just a chore completed — it’s a ministry of encouragement, a reminder that God’s love often arrives through helping hands. “Whatever you do for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you do for Me” (Matthew 25:40).

Hope That Shines Beyond the Dust
Platt Services’ mission reflects what Christian compassion looks like in everyday life — meeting people where they are, serving them with humility, and offering practical expressions of God’s grace. In every freshly cleaned home, families experience not just relief, but renewal — a visible reminder that even in life’s hardest seasons, they are not alone.

A Prayer for the Community
Heavenly Father, bless Sonya Platt and all who serve through this ministry of care. Comfort those battling illness with Your peace and strengthen their families with Your love. May every act of service bring healing, hope, and testimony to Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
