Lafayette, LA – As the 72nd Annual Kiwanis Club of Lafayette High School Football Jamboree approaches, excitement is building across Acadiana. High school football is more than just a sport in this region—it’s a cherished tradition that brings communities together. This year’s jamboree will kick off what promises to be another thrilling season for local teams, despite a few changes due to ongoing renovations at Cajun Field.
New Locations for a Classic Event
Due to construction at Cajun Field, this year’s Kiwanis football games will be held at two alternative venues. Each game will consist of two 12-minute halves, with a 3-minute halftime, ensuring fans get to enjoy all the action. Admission is set at $15 per night, and attendees should be aware of a clear bag policy in effect at both stadiums. Additionally, for safety, weapons detectors will be installed at the entrances, and vaping or e-cigarettes are strictly prohibited.
A Community United in Spirit
Just as football unites fans, these changes remind us of the importance of adaptability and community spirit. Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” While the location may be different this year, the heart of the jamboree—bringing people together to celebrate youth, sportsmanship, and community—remains unchanged.
A Prayer for a Safe and Successful Season
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of community and the joy that high school football brings to so many in Acadiana. We ask for Your protection over the players, coaches, and fans as they gather for this year’s Kiwanis Jamboree. May this season be filled with fellowship, respect, and healthy competition. Guide everyone involved to make decisions that prioritize safety and unity. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
