A Heavenly Perspective
Often, we view Earth as the ultimate reality, and Heaven as a distant, ethereal concept. However, the Bible presents a different perspective. It paints Earth as a temporary dwelling place, a mere shadow of the eternal reality that awaits us in Heaven.
As C.S. Lewis eloquently put it, Earth is the “shadowlands.” The beauty and wonder we experience in nature, the love we share with others, and the joy we find in life are but glimpses of the perfect beauty and love that exist in Heaven.
A Divine Blueprint
When God instructed Moses to build the tabernacle, He was providing a blueprint for a sacred space that mirrored the heavenly sanctuary. It was a tangible representation of the spiritual reality that transcends our physical world. The priests who served in the earthly tabernacle were merely shadows of the heavenly priesthood, pointing to a greater reality beyond the veil.
The Eternal Reality
The hills and valleys of Heaven will surpass our earthly experiences, not as a copy to an original, but as a diamond to coal. The beauty and wonder of Heaven will be infinitely greater than anything we can imagine.
As we navigate the challenges and joys of earthly life, let us keep our eyes fixed on the eternal. Let us remember that our ultimate hope and destiny lie beyond the horizon of this world.
A Prayer for Eternal Hope
Lord, we thank You for the gift of eternal life. May we always keep our hearts fixed on You and the promises of Your Word. Help us to live each day with a heavenly perspective, knowing that our true home is with You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
