Kept by His Power

God’s Role in Keeping Us
Scripture reassures us that God is constantly watching over His children. Hebrews 7:25 declares, “He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Our salvation is secured not by our works but by Christ’s ongoing intercession. He guards us with His power and preserves our place in His family.

Our Role in Remaining Close to God
While God keeps us, we are also called to keep ourselves in His love. Jude 1:21 advises, “Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” This does not mean we maintain our salvation through effort, but rather that we avoid influences that draw us away from God’s presence. We are to reject anything that conflicts with His character and leads us toward sin.

The Value God Places on Us
God values us as His precious possession. Just as a parent closely watches their child in a crowded place, or someone safeguards an expensive item, God protects us because we are dear to Him. Peter affirms this truth, “Through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see” (1 Peter 1:5, NLT). Our worth in His eyes ensures His continual care.

Living Secure in His Love
We rest in the power of God, but we must also stay within His loving boundaries. This partnership requires trust and obedience. Together, God’s power and our faith lead us to eternal life.

A Prayer for Our Community
Heavenly Father, thank You for keeping us by Your power. Help us to remain in Your love and avoid anything that separates us from You. Protect our community, and may we rest in Your saving grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
