“And God said, ‘Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.’” – Genesis 1:29
A study published in the World Journal of Diabetes has shown that regular consumption of strawberries can lower blood pressure in people with Type 2 diabetes. The research involved 36 participants, all managing diabetes and moderately high blood pressure. Over six weeks, one group drank a strawberry beverage made from freeze-dried berries, while the other consumed a strawberry-flavored imitation drink.
The Power of God’s Creation
Results revealed that the group drinking real strawberry beverages experienced a 6.5% drop in diastolic blood pressure and a 12% reduction in systolic blood pressure. In comparison, the imitation strawberry group showed only a modest improvement. This study highlights the unique healing properties found in natural foods—reminding us that God’s creation is perfectly designed to sustain and restore us. As Psalm 104:14 declares, “He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate—bringing forth food from the earth.”
Health, Faith, and Stewardship
For believers, this discovery is more than scientific—it is spiritual. It points us back to the importance of stewarding our health through God-given resources. In a world of artificial flavors and processed foods, choosing whole, God-created nutrition is a way of honoring the body He has entrusted to us.
Prayer for Healing and Wisdom
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the beauty and nourishment found in Your creation, even in something as small and sweet as a strawberry. We pray for those living with diabetes and high blood pressure—that they may find healing, strength, and encouragement through natural foods and wise medical care. Help us, Lord, to honor You with our bodies and live in the fullness of health You desire for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
