Little Light of Mine Montessori Academy Opening Soon in Scott

A New Chapter in Early Childhood Education
Scott will soon welcome a brand-new preschool as construction wraps up on Little Light of Mine Montessori Academy, located at 541 L Provost Road. The 9,600-square-foot state-of-the-art facility is set to become the first pre-primary Montessori school in Lafayette Parish, with doors expected to open in early October. This milestone reflects Proverbs 24:3 — “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established.”

Faith-Based Montessori Learning
The academy will serve up to 181 children, blending the world-renowned Montessori method with a Christ-centered foundation. The focus will be on independence, respect, and hands-on learning. Students will be divided into classrooms by age group, beginning with 18-month-olds and continuing through age four. This commitment to nurturing children echoes Matthew 19:14 — “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Founders with a Vision
Dillon and Chrystal Quebedeaux, the academy’s founders, emphasize a lower child-to-staff ratio, ensuring each child receives the attention they need to flourish. Certified teachers and support staff will guide students in both academics and faith. Their dedication mirrors Proverbs 22:6 — “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Community Invitation
An open house is scheduled for Thursday, September 25, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Families will have the opportunity to tour classrooms, explore Montessori materials, and meet the staff. Early enrollment discounts are currently available.

Prayer for Our Community
Heavenly Father, we thank You for blessing Scott with this new academy that will nurture both the minds and hearts of children. We pray for the founders, teachers, students, and families who will walk through its doors. May this school shine as a light in the community, guiding children in truth, wisdom, and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
