LAFAYETTE, La. — What began as a simple passion for cooking and sharing meals has grown into a beloved Acadiana success story. After opening its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Lafayette in 2017, The Cajun Table quickly became a go-to destination for boiled crawfish, fried shrimp and catfish, seafood po-boys, meatball stew, and other Cajun favorites. Now, due to overwhelming community support, the local restaurant is preparing to open a second drive-thru location dedicated to its popular boiled seafood offerings.
From Humble Beginnings to Community Favorite
According to The Cajun Table’s website, the journey began in 2015 with a food truck and a heart for serving others. Owners shared their love of cooking first with family and friends, then with the wider community. The food truck soon became a local sensation, drawing crowds at festivals, businesses, and gatherings throughout Lafayette. Their story echoes Zechariah 4:10: “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”
Those early days laid the foundation for the opening of their sit-down restaurant at 4510 Ambassador Caffery Parkway in 2017. What followed was steady growth fueled by quality food, hospitality, and a loyal customer base.
A Vision Answered Through Demand
As word spread and crowds continued to grow, the need for expansion became clear. In a recent interview, co-owner Lauren Suire announced plans to open a second, drive-thru location in Lafayette, focusing on their highly sought-after boiled seafood. While an official opening date has not yet been announced, anticipation is already building for what is expected to open sometime in 2026.
This step forward reflects Proverbs 16:9: “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” The expansion stands as a testimony to God’s guidance and the support of a grateful community.

The new drive-thru location will allow The Cajun Table to serve customers more efficiently while meeting the fast-paced needs of families, workers, and seafood lovers across Acadiana. With their playful slogan, “So good, your fork will fight ya spoon for a TASTE!!,” the restaurant continues to blend joy, flavor, and Cajun tradition.
