BROUSSARD MOVES FORWARD WITH MAIN STREET BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT
BROUSSARD, La. — City leaders in Broussard are taking meaningful steps to enhance the heart of their community as the second phase of the Main Street Beautification Project prepares to begin. During a recent council meeting, officials accepted the lowest bid for the project, clearing the way for new signage at Arceneaux Park and a gateway entry sign at Celebrity Drive.
In a season marked by growth and construction, the effort reflects a desire not only to improve infrastructure but to cultivate civic pride. Scripture reminds us in Jeremiah 29:7, “Seek the peace and prosperity of the city… Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” City leaders say this initiative is one way they are seeking the well-being of Broussard.
NEW GATEWAY SIGNS TO WELCOME RESIDENTS AND VISITORS
The upcoming improvements will include a gateway sign at Celebrity Drive, designed similarly to the existing entrance feature at South Bernard Road. The enhancements aim to create a cohesive and welcoming visual identity for the city. Each location will also provide space for seasonal décor, allowing the community to celebrate holidays together in a unified and festive way.
Joseph Marino of Duplantis Design Group told council members that the project’s visuals will complement ongoing development. With construction currently underway along Main Street, Marino noted that the beautification efforts will blend seamlessly as the current work concludes and this new phase begins.
Proverbs 16:3 encourages, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” City officials expressed confidence that careful planning and stewardship will ensure the improvements enhance Broussard’s character while honoring its growth.
IMPROVEMENTS AT ARCENEAUX PARK AND CELEBRITY DRIVE
Part of the approved work includes new signage at Arceneaux Park, a gathering place for families and community events. The park serves as a reminder that public spaces are more than recreational areas—they are places of fellowship and connection.
Additionally, the aging fence at the Celebrity Gateway will be replaced with a new structure featuring lighting and electrical outlets. These additions will allow for illuminated displays and decorations during the holiday season, reinforcing a spirit of celebration and unity throughout the year.
