New Bagel Shop Coming to River Ranch, Bringing Fresh Food and Community to Lafayette

A New Business Takes Root in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. — A new locally founded bagel shop is preparing to open in Lafayette’s River Ranch community, bringing homemade bagels, breakfast entrées and lunch specials to Acadiana. According to information reported by Developing Lafayette, construction is underway at 111 Stonemont Road, located between Rock-n-Sake and Romacelli. While an official opening date has not yet been announced, anticipation is growing as residents look forward to another locally owned gathering place.

Entrepreneurs Continue Building in Acadiana

The new bagel business comes from the entrepreneurs who previously helped bring Caroline’s Cookies to the Lafayette area. Their latest venture reflects the determination of local business owners who are investing their time, resources and creativity into the community. Scripture reminds believers of the value of diligent work: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23). From a Christian perspective, honest work can be more than a means of earning a living; it can also become an opportunity to serve others.

A Place Designed for Connection

The owners say the future shop is being created with a variety of customers in mind. Whether someone stops by to pick up an order, sits down to enjoy a bagel sandwich while working, or gathers around a table with friends, the goal is to provide a welcoming environment. In a culture where people can become increasingly disconnected, places that encourage conversation and fellowship can serve an important role.

The Bible repeatedly highlights the importance of gathering with others. Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages believers to consider how they can encourage one another and continue meeting together. Although a restaurant is not a church, an ordinary table can still become a place where friendships are strengthened, conversations take place and neighbors learn to know one another.

Serving More Than a Meal

For the owners, the new shop represents an opportunity to serve Acadiana through food and hospitality. Jesus taught His followers to view service as an expression of love, saying, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40).

Small acts of hospitality can have a meaningful impact. A warm meal, a friendly greeting or a welcoming seat at a table may seem simple, but such moments can help create a stronger sense of community. As the business prepares to open, its success will depend not only on its food but also on the relationships it builds with customers and neighbors.

Prayer for Lafayette and the New Business

Heavenly Father, we pray for the owners, employees and everyone involved in establishing this new bagel shop in Lafayette. Give them wisdom, strength and integrity as construction continues and the opening approaches. Bless their work and allow this business to become a place of kindness, fellowship and service. We pray for the people of River Ranch and the wider Acadiana community, asking You to strengthen local businesses and provide opportunities for neighbors to support one another. May everything done through this new venture reflect the values of hard work, generosity and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
