“He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” (Job 23:10)
God specializes in placing us in situations where only He can deliver us. This ensures that we can’t attribute our success to luck or our own cleverness. Instead, we must acknowledge, “Only God could have done this.” He desires to receive all the glory for His work, as stated in Isaiah 42:8.
Job, a man renowned for his suffering, exemplifies this principle. Despite losing his children, home, possessions, and health, Job remained steadfast. He expressed his deep desire to present his case before God and understand His ways. Yet, amidst his questions, Job affirmed his faith, declaring, “He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). Job acknowledged that though he may not understand his circumstances, God’s refining process would ultimately bring him through as purified gold. This remains God’s objective for each of us as well.
