Psalm 1:1-3
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” — Psalm 1:1-3 (NIV)
Psalm 1 paints a beautiful picture of what it means to live a blessed and grounded life. The psalmist shows us that true joy and stability come not from the world’s ways, but from walking closely with God. When we choose to delight in His Word—to read it, meditate on it, and live it—we are like a tree planted by a constant source of life.
The world’s influences can dry us out spiritually, but God’s Word refreshes, strengthens, and sustains us through every season. Even when challenges come, the one rooted in God’s truth stands firm and bears fruit.
Today, ask yourself: Where am I planted? Spend a few moments meditating on Scripture. Let it nourish your soul so that your life reflects the steady strength and quiet fruitfulness that only comes from being deeply rooted in God.
Prayer:
Lord, help me delight in Your Word today. Plant me by Your living waters so that I may grow strong, bear good fruit, and bring You glory in all I do. Amen.
