Artistry as Worship
LAFAYETTE, La. — On November 8, 2025, art lovers and families are invited to the Big Easel 2025 festival at River Ranch Town Square. This annual event celebrates the gifts God has placed in local artists, showcasing oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, wood, metal, photography, ceramic, resin, and more. As Exodus 35:35 reminds us, “He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.” Attendees will witness the beauty of creativity as a reflection of God’s handiwork in each piece of art.
A Community Gathering
The festival runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing a space for families and friends to come together in fellowship and celebration of God-given talents. The Big Easel encourages interaction with artists, appreciation of diverse mediums, and an understanding that all creativity ultimately points back to the Creator. Colossians 3:17 reminds us, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Each brushstroke, carving, or photograph becomes an act of worship when shared with the community.
Encouraging Young Artists
In addition to showcasing established artists, the event inspires the next generation of creatives. Children and teens are invited to explore art, ask questions, and discover their own God-given gifts. By nurturing creativity in young hearts, the festival fulfills Proverbs 22:6, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
A Prayer for the Festival
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the creativity and talent You have gifted to our community. Bless the artists, volunteers, and attendees of the Big Easel festival. May every work of art point to Your glory, inspire wonder, and encourage fellowship. May Your Spirit guide each brushstroke and creation, bringing joy and inspiration to all. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
