The Purple Putter Brings Faith, Fellowship, and Focused Fun to Youngsville Golfers

A New Venue for Golf and Community

YOUNGVILLE, La. — Golf enthusiasts in Lafayette Parish have a reason to rejoice as The Purple Putter, a new indoor golf facility, prepares to open at 208 Centre Sarcelle Blvd, Suite 104. Founded by UL Ragin’ Cajun alum and military veteran Caleb Mayard, the 1,400-square-foot facility aims to provide a dedicated space for golfers of all skill levels to practice, refine technique, and enjoy fellowship, regardless of the weather.

This new venture reflects the biblical principle found in Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Caleb’s vision demonstrates that even recreational activities, when approached with dedication and integrity, can honor God and build community.

State-of-the-Art Facilities for Focused Practice

The Purple Putter will feature two 13-foot-wide hitting bays, each equipped with Foresight GC3 launch monitors and 75-inch TVs for live sports viewing while players swing. This setup allows members to focus on improving their game in a distraction-free environment. Complimentary coffee and water will also be available, reflecting a thoughtful attention to hospitality and fellowship.

In providing a space designed for concentration and skill-building, The Purple Putter embodies Proverbs 22:29: “Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.” Whether practicing for fun, competition, or personal growth, golfers can pursue excellence with diligence and purpose.

Supporting Lafayette Parish’s Golf Community

Lafayette Parish has long boasted a rich golf culture, with numerous public and private courses and active leagues. The Purple Putter complements this tradition by offering an indoor alternative that allows players to remain sharp year-round. Operating on an hourly rental model and available exclusively to members, the facility emphasizes focus, discipline, and fellowship over distractions.

Hebrews 10:24 reminds believers: “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” The Purple Putter fosters this spirit of mutual encouragement among golfers, helping players inspire one another in skill, sportsmanship, and character.

Looking Ahead to the Opening

The tentative opening of The Purple Putter is set for January 2026, with potential demo days in December for prospective members to experience the facility firsthand. Mayard envisions the space as more than a golf simulator—it’s a place where friendships form, skills grow, and faith-driven principles of integrity, patience, and perseverance are displayed in action.

Psalm 90:17 declares, “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.” Caleb Mayard’s new venture embodies this prayer, seeking God’s blessing on every swing, lesson, and moment of camaraderie.

A Prayer for the Community and Members

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of recreation, fellowship, and community. Bless The Purple Putter and everyone who steps through its doors. May this facility not only improve skills and bring joy but also cultivate integrity, patience, and respect for others. Guide Caleb Mayard and his team as they open this ministry of sports and fellowship, and let every swing and lesson glorify You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
