ST. MARTINVILLE, La. — The St. Martinville Senior High Tigers are celebrating a season marked not only by wins and statistics, but by perseverance, leadership, and teamwork rooted in discipline and character. The Tigers placed three players on the District 5-3A All-District First Team, while seven players earned Second Team honors and six more received Honorable Mention recognition. For the St. Martinville community, the accolades reflect more than athletic achievement — they reflect faithful commitment and unity. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord,” Colossians 3:23 reminds believers.

First Team Leaders Set the Standard

Quarterback Khyrie Francisco was named to the First Team Offense as an all-around athlete after an impressive season leading the Tigers. Francisco completed 125 of 218 passes for 1,652 yards and 10 touchdowns, while adding 404 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. His dual-threat ability made him a consistent force on offense and a steady leader for the team. Coach Garrett Kreamer praised Francisco’s versatility and leadership, qualities echoed in Proverbs 16:9: “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

Defense Anchored by Strength and Sacrifice

Senior Kohen Clues earned First Team Defense honors as a linebacker, finishing the season with 44 solo tackles, 56 assists, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and eight tackles for loss. Known for his toughness and football intelligence, Clues also contributed on offense as a powerful running back. His willingness to serve wherever needed reflects the heart of a servant leader, as described in Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.”

Senior Payton Nelson joined Clues on the First Team Defense as a flex player, recording 42 total tackles and seven tackles for loss. Nelson’s adaptability and consistency on the field proved invaluable, demonstrating that God equips each individual with unique gifts for the good of the team, as stated in 1 Corinthians 12:12.

Second Team and Honorable Mentions Reflect Teamwide Effort

Seven Tigers earning Second Team honors and six more receiving Honorable Mention recognition highlight the depth and balance of the St. Martinville roster.
