LAFAYETTE, La. — A recent visit to the Vatican has renewed the mission of compassion and service for Catholic Charities of Acadiana as CEO Kim Boudreaux returned home encouraged after a private audience with Pope Leo XIV. The May 4 meeting, held during her service on the Catholic Charities USA Board of Directors, served as a powerful reminder that acts of mercy performed in local communities echo the love of Christ around the world.
Boudreaux joined fellow Catholic Charities USA board members and organizational leaders for the special audience, where Pope Leo XIV expressed his gratitude for the countless staff members, volunteers, and supporters who dedicate themselves to serving vulnerable individuals and families throughout the United States.
For Christians of every denomination, the gathering highlights an enduring biblical truth: God calls His people to care for those who are hurting.
