A NEW FACILITY DEDICATED TO CARE AND COMMUNITY HEALING
LAFAYETTE, La. — A new chapter in cancer care and community support began Thursday as Miles Perret Cancer Services officially cut the ribbon on its new Cancer Care Resource Center. The organization has relocated from its longtime home on Kaliste Saloom Road to a larger facility on Capital Drive, previously the Halliburton office, in order to better serve families facing cancer diagnoses.
The expansion reflects a growing need in the region for holistic care that goes beyond medical treatment. As Scripture reminds believers in Galatians 6:2, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” The center’s mission aligns closely with this call to compassion and shared suffering.
DESIGNED WITH COMFORT, LIGHT, AND DIGNITY IN MIND
The new facility was intentionally designed to create a more peaceful and welcoming environment for clients. Leaders highlighted an open layout, abundant natural light, and colorful interior spaces meant to foster hope and emotional comfort during difficult seasons.
The center now includes three private family rooms and a dedicated children’s area, recognizing the emotional and relational impact cancer has on entire households. These thoughtful additions reflect the biblical principle found in Romans 12:15: “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”
In moments of illness and uncertainty, environment matters—and this new space seeks to reflect care not only for the body, but also for the heart and spirit.
EXPANDING SERVICES TO MEET EMOTIONAL AND PRACTICAL NEEDS
Miles Perret Cancer Services is also expanding its programming within the new facility. Plans include on-site counseling services, wig and prosthetic fitting rooms, and additional wellness-focused support areas designed to meet the practical and emotional needs of clients.
Beth Guidry, PR coordinator for the organization, shared that the expansion represents 26 years of steady growth and service. She emphasized that all services are offered free of charge, ensuring that no family is turned away due to financial hardship.
This mission echoes Isaiah 41:10, where God declares, “Do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.” In many ways, the center becomes an extension of that promise—offering strength and support to those walking through fear and uncertainty.
A PLACE OF HOPE FOR FAMILIES IN NEED
Leaders at Miles Perret Cancer Services encourage anyone affected by cancer—directly or indirectly—to reach out and take advantage of available resources. The organization serves patients, survivors, and families, offering guidance, emotional support, and practical assistance throughout the cancer journey.
“We want everyone in the community to know that the services we provide are free,” Guidry said, emphasizing accessibility and compassion. The center’s expanded vision reflects a deep commitment to ensuring no one faces cancer alone.
As Matthew 25:40 reminds believers, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these… you did for me.” In this spirit, the center seeks to serve Christ through serving those in need.
