JEANERETTE, La. — A beloved South Louisiana bakery with more than a century of tradition is receiving national recognition as LeJeune’s Bakery in Jeanerette has been named one of the South’s legendary bakeries by Southern Living magazine. For generations, the family-owned bakery has served the Acadiana community with its famous French bread, ginger cakes, and timeless commitment to quality.

The recognition shines a spotlight on a business that has remained in the same family for six generations, preserving recipes and baking methods that have become part of Louisiana culture and heritage. Community members say the honor reflects not only the bakery’s culinary excellence, but also the faithfulness, perseverance, and dedication that have sustained the family business through changing times.
