KEEPING OUR EYES ON JESUS THROUGH LIFE’S RACE

LAFAYETTE, La. — In a world filled with distractions, disappointments, and uncertainty, believers are being encouraged to remain focused on Jesus Christ as they continue running the spiritual race of life. Drawing inspiration from Hebrews 12:1-2, many Christians are reflecting on the importance of endurance, faith, and keeping their attention fixed on the Lord rather than temporary circumstances.

The scripture declares, “Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.” Faith leaders say this reminder is especially meaningful during seasons of struggle when people may feel discouraged or overwhelmed.

Just as athletes train to finish strong, Christians are called to persevere spiritually even when challenges arise. Many believers say life can sometimes feel like a difficult long-distance race, requiring patience, discipline, and trust in God’s direction.

JESUS AS THE SOURCE OF STRENGTH

Church leaders point to biblical examples such as Stephen and Simon Peter, who found courage and strength by focusing on Christ. In Acts 7:56, Stephen looked toward heaven while facing persecution and declared that he saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God. His faith gave him peace and boldness even in the face of death.

Likewise, Simon Peter was able to walk on water only while keeping his eyes fixed on Jesus. Believers say these stories remind Christians that faith grows stronger when attention remains centered on the Lord rather than fear or doubt.

Isaiah 40:31 teaches, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” Many pastors say God continues to strengthen His people when they trust Him daily.
