Carencro, LA – May 9, 2024
In a move to bolster services for struggling families and children, Christian charities Safe Families and Home for Good have announced their merger. This combined force aims to tackle the rising number of children in care systems and offer more effective support networks.
Both organizations boast successful track records. Safe Families, with a global presence, focuses on family preservation through volunteer support. Home for Good prioritizes fostering and adoption to ensure permanent, loving homes for children in need.
The merger creates a powerhouse organization with a wider reach and resource pool. Leaders from both charities believe this will allow them to equip more churches to serve communities and local authorities.
“By joining forces,” said Kat Osborn, CEO of Safe Families, “we can prevent more children from entering care and ensure there’s a loving home for every child who needs one.”
This strategic move comes amidst a growing social care crisis. In the UK alone, the number of children in care has surpassed 100,000, with thousands more expected to enter the system this year.
Tarn Bright, CEO of Home for Good, emphasized the urgency: “The need for support is vast. This merger will allow us to better serve families and local authorities, ultimately decreasing the number of children entering care.”
The combined charity is expected to be fully operational within four months. With their faith-based foundation and focus on community collaboration, they hope to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable families and children.
