Prayers Needed: Opelousas Police Officer Arrested for Mistreatment of a Juvenile

Opelousas, LA – In a troubling incident, Officer Dexter Washington of the Opelousas Police Department has been charged with cruelty to a juvenile. This arrest took place on Wednesday, June 5, following a reported incident of simple battery.

The incident in question occurred while Washington was off duty. On May 29, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a complaint was filed with the Opelousas Police Department. According to witnesses, Washington allegedly grabbed the young victim, forcefully shoved him against a wall, and subsequently slammed him to the ground.

In response to these allegations, Officer Washington has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.

This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the biblical teachings regarding authority and responsibility. Guide him back to the path of righteousness, reminding him of the sacred duty he holds as a peacekeeper. Help him to align his actions with Your teachings, serving with justice, mercy, and humility.
