A Paw-sitive Initiative
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) has taken the heartwarming initiative to launch a Pet Food Drive, aimed at supporting the Local Animal Shelter and Animal Rescue Group. This compassionate endeavor seeks to provide essential supplies and nourishment to the furry friends in our community.
A Community Effort
The EPSO is calling upon the generosity of residents to donate dog or cat food, as well as other necessary animal supplies. Donations can be dropped off at the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office located at 415 W Cotton St, Ville Platte, until September 15, 2024. As Proverbs 12:10 states, “A righteous man cares for the life of his animal.” This community-driven effort is a testament to our shared responsibility to care for all creatures.
A Helping Hand
The donated supplies will directly benefit the Heroes Everywhere Animal Rescue shelter, providing much-needed support to their efforts in rescuing and rehabilitating animals. For those unable to drop off donations, the shelter’s website offers a convenient online donation option. As Matthew 25:35-36 reminds us, “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.” This initiative embodies the spirit of compassion and care for our fellow creatures.
A Prayer for Our Furry Friends
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the compassionate hearts of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office and the community members who are supporting this Pet Food Drive. May this initiative provide much-needed relief to the animals in our care. Bless the volunteers and staff of the Heroes Everywhere Animal Rescue shelter as they work tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate these furry friends. May Your love and protection be upon all animals, and may we continue to be mindful of our responsibility to care for them. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
