“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” —Romans 15:13 (NIV)
Hope Has a Source
We all long for peace—the kind that steadies us when life is uncertain, and fills us with quiet strength when the road gets hard. Romans 15:13 reminds us that peace isn’t something we create; it’s something God gives as we believe. He is the God of hope, and trusting Him opens the door for joy and peace to take root in our hearts.

Peace Grows Where Trust Lives
Believing isn’t just a moment—it’s a posture. As we choose to trust God day by day, peace begins to grow. It doesn’t mean we never face fear or questions, but it does mean that our hearts find rest in knowing who holds the outcome. Trust is the soil in which peace is planted and nurtured.
Overflowing Hope
God doesn’t stop at filling us—He wants us to overflow. When we believe, we don’t just receive peace for ourselves, but we become vessels of hope for others. Our lives become a reflection of what it means to walk with a steady heart, even in uncertain times. And it’s all by the power of the Holy Spirit—not our effort, but His work in us.
Peace Is the Evidence of Trust
If your heart feels anxious, return to trust. Let your prayer be simple: “Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.” As you fix your eyes on the God of hope, His joy and peace will begin to take over, even when nothing around you changes—because believing transforms everything within.
A Prayer for Believing Peace
God of hope,
Fill my heart today with Your joy and peace. Teach me to trust You more deeply, to believe in Your goodness even when I can’t see the outcome. Let my life overflow with hope through Your Spirit, and help me walk in quiet confidence knowing that You are always faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
