A Journey Marked by Faith and Fight
At just two years old, Emmy’s life took a dramatic turn when her parents noticed concerning symptoms—fatigue, fever, and a lump on her neck. A CT scan revealed multiple tumors. Just days after her third birthday, Emmy was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. For a full year, Emmy and her parents lived in Memphis, Tennessee, receiving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Psalm 34:19 says, “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” That promise carried Emmy and her family through the hardest season of their lives.
A Family Reunited and Hope Restored
While Emmy battled cancer, her three siblings remained in Louisiana with their grandparents—only reuniting during holidays and treatment breaks. The separation was painful, but their bond never wavered. Now, Emmy is eight months cancer-free and finally back home in Lafayette. Her healing journey is a testimony to the power of prayer, love, and medical miracles. Romans 12:12 encourages us: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
A Dream Come True at the Happiest Place on Earth
To celebrate Emmy’s recovery, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, with the generous sponsorship of Halliburton, granted her dream trip to Disney World. Emmy spent several magical days with her family—meeting princesses, riding roller coasters, and filling her days with joy and laughter. The experience was more than a vacation; it was a reminder that beauty can rise from ashes. Psalm 126:5 says, “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.”
A Prayer for Emmy and All Families in Need
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Emmy’s healing and the joy of this special trip. Bless all families walking through illness. Bring peace, strength, and hope to their hearts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
