A Young Leader’s Vision of Service
In New Iberia, Louisiana, faith and community spirit came together in a powerful way as Eagle Scout candidate Kyndall Aucoin, a senior at New Iberia Senior High, completed her service project — a full renovation of the New Iberia City Park Dog Park. The grand reopening, celebrated Saturday morning, reflected not only her dedication but also the collective goodwill of a supportive community.
Inspired by her love for animals, Kyndall said, “I always bring my dogs to the park on weekends, and they didn’t have any equipment to play on. I used that as an opportunity to raise money and work with the community.” Her words bring to life Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”
Building More Than a Park
With help from volunteers, Kyndall added colorful doggy tunnels, a seesaw, a “stick library,” and a larger picnic table for visitors. She also repaired broken boards and made improvements throughout the park, turning it into a welcoming space for dogs and their owners. When vandals damaged some equipment before the opening, the community rallied behind her—restoring what was broken and standing together in unity.
Their response mirrors Galatians 6:9: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Kyndall’s perseverance is a testimony of how God uses even the youngest among us to make a lasting difference.
Faith, Service, and the Future
Through her Eagle Scout journey, Kyndall discovered not only leadership skills but also a calling to serve others—embodying Christ’s example of compassion and stewardship.
Community Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for inspiring young leaders like Kyndall to serve their communities with love and purpose. Bless her, her family, and all who supported this project. May this park be a place of joy, fellowship, and peace for years to come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
