God Searches for Surrendered Hearts
“The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him” (2 Chronicles 16:9, NLT). This verse reminds us that God is not looking for the most talented, powerful, or famous—He is looking for hearts that are fully devoted. When He finds one, extraordinary things happen. D. L. Moody once heard someone say, “The world has yet to see what God can do with and through the man who is totally committed to Him.” Those words changed the direction of his life—and through that surrender, God used Moody to touch millions.
Ordinary People, Extraordinary Faith
The Book of Acts tells the story of ordinary men and women who, by the power of the Holy Spirit, turned the world upside down. They weren’t scholars, rulers, or celebrities—they were fishermen, tentmakers, and servants whose hearts burned for Jesus. Their strength wasn’t in themselves, but in their surrender. God still works through that kind of devotion today. He calls each of us to say, “Lord, use me. Let my life make a difference.”
Your Life Can Still Change the World
It’s not too late for God to use you. Whether young or old, known or unknown, He can take your ordinary days and turn them into divine assignments. As Paul said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful” (2 Timothy 4:7, NLT). When we live fully surrendered, we too can leave behind a legacy of faith that echoes through eternity.
A Prayer for Total Commitment
Heavenly Father, make our hearts wholly Yours. Take our ordinary lives and fill them with Your extraordinary power. Help us live with courage, purpose, and faithfulness so that our lives bring You glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
