St. Martinville High Students Building Confidence and Community Through ROAR Network News

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. — Students at St. Martinville High School are discovering their voices, strengthening their creativity, and building a lasting legacy through the school’s student-led broadcasting program, ROAR Network News.

Thanks to a recent Tools for Schools delivery, the program has received updated broadcasting equipment that will help students produce professional-quality news shows, podcasts, and multimedia projects while continuing a tradition that has become a source of pride throughout the school community.

English and Speech Teacher Breonna Jaime said the program is about much more than completing classroom assignments. She believes the experience gives students a meaningful opportunity to grow in confidence, leadership, and communication while serving others through storytelling.

“Our ROAR Network News show is more than a classroom activity,” Jaime shared. “It is part of our school’s legacy. We are working hard to continue that tradition in a way that honors the foundation that was built before us.”

Using Creativity to Inspire Others

The new tools include upgraded lighting and backdrop kits, podcast microphones, and high-capacity SD cards that will allow students to expand their creativity and produce higher-quality broadcasts for their peers and community.

For students involved in the program, the opportunity goes beyond learning technical skills. It allows them to tell stories, encourage school spirit, and create content that reflects the heart of their campus.

Philippians 4:8 reminds believers to focus on things that are “true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable.” Educators at St. Martinville High say the broadcasting program gives students a positive outlet to share uplifting messages, celebrate accomplishments, and strengthen unity within the school.

Jaime explained that students are learning valuable life skills every time they step behind a microphone or in front of a camera.

“They are not simply completing an assignment,” she said. “They are creating something meaningful, collaborative, and real.”

Building Confidence for the Future

School leaders say the broadcasting program is helping students develop public speaking abilities, writing skills, teamwork, and hands-on media experience that can prepare them for future careers in journalism, communications, and digital media.

The impact has reached far beyond the classroom itself. According to Jaime, students who are not enrolled in the course regularly ask when new broadcasts will be released, showing the growing excitement surrounding the program.

That enthusiasm has helped create a stronger sense of belonging and connection across campus. Proverbs 18:21 teaches that “the tongue has the power of life and death,” and educators believe students are learning how to use their voices in ways that encourage and uplift others.

The ROAR Network News program is also preserving a tradition that many students and staff members value deeply. With improved equipment now available, students can continue building a broadcast legacy that informs, inspires, and reflects the spirit of St. Martinville High School.

A Positive Voice in the Community

As technology continues to shape modern communication, programs like ROAR Network News are giving students the opportunity to lead with creativity, integrity, and purpose. Teachers say the experience not only prepares students academically but also helps them understand the importance of using media responsibly and positively.

Community members hope the program will continue inspiring future generations of students to pursue their passions while serving their school with excellence and heart.

Prayer for the Community

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the students, teachers, and supporters who are investing in positive opportunities for young people at St. Martinville High School. Bless the ROAR Network News program as it continues to inspire creativity, confidence, and unity throughout the campus. Guide these students as they use their voices and talents to encourage others and make a difference in their community. May they always walk in wisdom, integrity, and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
