Loyola University New Orleans celebrated its graduating Class of 2024 on May 11th with a commencement ceremony at the UNO Lakefront Arena. The ceremony marked the culmination of their academic journeys and the start of their paths as future leaders and changemakers.
Graduates from diverse academic backgrounds, including business, engineering, arts, and nursing, stood poised to leave their mark on the world. Among them was Chante Stephens, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the School of Nursing. Chante, and her fellow nursing graduates, will provide vital healthcare services, joining the ranks of medical professionals on the frontlines of patient care.
Business graduates will enter the workforce with a strong foundation to navigate the complexities of the global economy.Engineers will apply their innovative thinking to solve real-world challenges. Artists will enrich communities with their creativity, while nurses like Chante will provide vital healthcare services.
Loyola’s 161-year history is woven into the fabric of New Orleans. Founded in 1861, the university has consistently produced graduates who not only excel in their fields but also contribute meaningfully to the city’s vibrant culture and its ongoing recovery efforts.
University President, Xavier A. Cole Ed.D., spoke at the ceremony, highlighting this historical significance. “Since our founding, Loyola has been dedicated to educating well-rounded individuals with a commitment to service,” they said.”This graduating class embodies that spirit, ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
