Man with Broken Neck Thanks Acadian Ambulance First Responders

A Testimony of Healing and Gratitude
ST. MARTINVILLE, La. — Bobby Moore knows firsthand the value of quick response and compassionate care. On May 12, Moore fell from a ladder at his home, suffering a broken neck. Fearing paralysis, he could only cling to hope as Acadian Ambulance medics rushed to his side.

Operations Supervisor Chavo Eglip, Paramedic Jordan LeBlanc, and EMT Miya Thibodeaux treated Moore on the scene, stabilizing him before transport. On Friday, months after the accident, Moore reunited with the team at Acadian’s St. Martinville station — this time not as a patient, but as a grateful friend.

Faith and Hope in the Midst of Fear
“My fear was that I was going to be paralyzed,” Moore recalled. “But they calmed me down, explained everything step by step, and gave me hope. If it wasn’t for what they did, I wouldn’t be here today.” After weeks in the hospital and months of rehabilitation, Moore is walking again.

For the medics, the reunion underscored why they serve. “It’s not everybody’s best day when we show up,” LeBlanc said. “That’s why it means so much when a patient takes the time to say thank you.”

A Reminder of God’s Healing Hand
Moore’s journey reflects the biblical promise of God’s sustaining presence in times of trial: “The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health” (Psalm 41:3). His recovery serves as both a testimony to skilled first responders and to the strength God provides through faith, community, and perseverance.
