Shine the Light: Camellia Crossing Acadiana’s Gleaux 5K Inspires Hope

A Night of Faith, Family, and Community
LAFAYETTE, La. — On November 26, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., families and friends are invited to Camellia Crossing: Acadiana’s Gleaux 5K at River Ranch Town Square. This Thanksgiving Eve event encourages participants to “gleaux” with lights and reflective gear while walking or running down Camellia Boulevard. More than a fun night, the event brings the community together to support families battling cancer in Acadiana. As Matthew 5:16 reminds us, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven,” this 5K invites everyone to be a light in the darkness for those facing illness.

Running With Purpose and Prayer
Participants can sign up individually or form teams with friends, family, or co-workers to collectively raise funds. Every dollar raised stays in Acadiana, directly helping local families survive, fight, and live with cancer. In this way, the Gleaux 5K reflects Galatians 6:2, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” By coming together, the community demonstrates God’s love through practical support, prayer, and encouragement for those in need.
