A Heart for Helping Others
In communities across Louisiana, Dr. Lori Lewis is known as someone who truly cares about people. Whether she is working in the salon, encouraging families, mentoring children, or praying with someone during a difficult season, Dr. Lori’s mission has always been bigger than beauty. Her passion is helping people recognize their worth, heal from life’s struggles, and see themselves the way God sees them.
For more than two decades, Dr. Lori has worked as a licensed cosmetologist and salon owner, using her platform not only to enhance outer beauty but to pour confidence and encouragement into every person who sits in her chair. Many in the community say conversations with her often leave people feeling uplifted, motivated, and reminded that they are never alone.
Proverbs 11:25 says, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Those who know Dr. Lori say she lives out that scripture daily through kindness, compassion, and service to others.
Pouring Into the Next Generation
In 2022, Dr. Lori founded Krowned Kingdom Kids, a faith-based organization dedicated to helping children and teens build confidence, self-esteem, and leadership skills. The organization focuses on teaching young people about healthy hair care, hygiene, bullying prevention, mental health, life skills, and positive self-image while reminding them that they were created with purpose by God.
Her vision came from seeing the need for young people to have a safe place where they could openly express themselves and feel encouraged. Through heartfelt conversations, mentorship, and community events, Dr. Lori works to make sure children understand that their value does not come from social media, popularity, or appearance—but from God.
She often reminds youth that they can accomplish anything they put their minds to when they trust God and believe in themselves. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you hope and a future.” That message remains at the center of her work with children and families.
Helping Families Build Better Futures
Dr. Lori’s impact reaches far beyond the salon and youth programs. Through her faith-based counseling services and community outreach, she has become a source of comfort and guidance for many individuals facing personal struggles, emotional challenges, and difficult life situations.
She has also hosted classes teaching individuals and families how to transition from renters to homeowners, helping people understand that homeownership and generational stability are possible with knowledge, discipline, and faith. Community members say her willingness to share information and resources has inspired many to pursue goals they once thought were out of reach.
Her heart for service reflects Galatians 6:2, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Whether she is encouraging someone emotionally, spiritually, or financially, Dr. Lori believes helping others can change lives and strengthen entire communities.
Leading Through Faith and Compassion
In addition to serving the community, Dr. Lori faithfully serves at Destiny of Faith, where she participates in ministry outreach and works closely with programs that encourage families, children, and marriages. Those closest to her describe her as compassionate, driven, and deeply rooted in her faith.
No matter how busy life becomes, Dr. Lori continues finding ways to uplift others and remind people to never give up on themselves. Her story is a reminder that one person’s compassion, faith, and willingness to serve can leave a lasting impact on an entire community.
Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Through her service, encouragement, and dedication to helping others, Dr. Lori continues shining that light throughout the community.
