YOUNGSVILLE, La. — An evening filled with music, laughter, generosity, and community spirit brought residents together as the Youngsville Chamber of Commerce hosted its sold-out 2026 Dancing with the Youngsville Stars on Saturday, July 18, at the Youngsville Sports Complex Recreation Center. More than a dance competition, the annual event showcased the heart of a community that thrives when neighbors, businesses, and local leaders come together in celebration and service.
Eight local dancing duos spent months rehearsing before stepping into the spotlight to perform for family, friends, Chamber members, and supporters. Their routines reflected creativity, dedication, and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones for the benefit of the community. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed inspiring performances that reminded everyone of the value of perseverance and teamwork.
The Bible encourages believers in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” The partnerships displayed on the dance floor reflected this biblical principle, demonstrating how encouragement and collaboration can produce something beautiful.
Celebrating Community Through Generosity
In addition to the dance competition, attendees enjoyed a buffet dinner, a silent auction featuring unique items, and an energetic live auction led by emcee and auctioneer Brian Campbell of Impact Acadiana. One of the evening’s highlights was the popular Money Dance, where each dancing duo collected cash donations from enthusiastic supporters. Combined with online voting, these contributions helped determine the event’s Grand Champion while also strengthening community engagement.
The atmosphere reflected more than entertainment—it revealed a community eager to invest in one another. Acts of generosity, whether through donations, volunteering, or sponsorships, demonstrate the servant-hearted spirit that Scripture encourages. Acts 20:35 reminds believers, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Every contribution made during the evening became a reminder that generosity helps build stronger communities and lasting relationships.
Honoring Excellence and Courage
As the competition concluded, several outstanding participants were recognized for their hard work and commitment. Chase Bourgeois and Thea Lissi St. Germain received the Judge’s Choice Award for their impressive performance. Cortney Meyers and Becky Gogola earned the People’s Choice Award, and their outstanding support and performance also secured them the title of Grand Champion.
While trophies marked the end of the competition, every participant demonstrated courage by embracing a new challenge and representing their businesses and organizations with enthusiasm. Their months of preparation reflected the biblical encouragement found in Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Excellence is not measured solely by winning but by faithfully giving one’s best.
A Community Built on Service
The Youngsville Chamber of Commerce expressed gratitude to the event sponsors, choreographers, judges, auction donors, volunteers, production teams, and countless community partners whose behind-the-scenes efforts made the evening possible. From decorations and technology to photography, videography, and guest hospitality, hundreds of hours were invested by individuals who may never take center stage but whose service helped create an unforgettable evening. Their commitment reflects Galatians 5:13, which teaches believers to “serve one another humbly in love.” True community flourishes when people willingly use their gifts to bless others.
Strengthening the Bonds of Youngsville
As Dancing with the Youngsville Stars continues to grow, it has become more than an annual fundraiser or community event. It serves as a celebration of the relationships, businesses, and servant leaders that make Youngsville one of Acadiana’s most vibrant communities.
In a world often divided by differences, evenings like this remind us that joy, fellowship, and shared purpose can unite people from every background. Psalm 133:1 declares, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” The overwhelming support shown by residents, local businesses, volunteers, and sponsors demonstrated that when a community works together with a spirit of generosity and love, everyone benefits.
