On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the Carencro Business Association (CBA) gathered for its August meeting at the Enterprise Business Center, located at 3419 NW Evangeline Thruway. The atmosphere was filled with unity, vision, and the spirit of community progress.
Honoring Tradition and Service
President Jake Johnson opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silent prayer. With gratitude and respect, members reflected on the blessing of living and working in a city where faith, family, and business remain the heartbeat of growth.
Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed and approved by Cindy Cole and Blake Johnson, while Treasurer Cindy Cole presented the financial report with clarity and diligence.
Celebrating the Next Generation
One of the highlights of this gathering was the opportunity to hear from young entrepreneurs, graduates from Carencro High School and Teurlings Catholic High School. Their businesses reflect both innovation and determination:

These young leaders gave heartfelt presentations, proving that Carencro’s future is bright. Their courage to step into entrepreneurship at such an early age is a testament to the spirit of resilience and creativity in our community.
Community Events on the Horizon
Members were reminded of the upcoming Carencro C’est Bon Seasoning Fest at Pelican Park on October 31 – November 2. The event promises family fun, with Friday night offering free admission and a trick-or-treat trail for children.
On Saturday, November 1, the Carencro Veterans Day Program will begin at 9 a.m. on the festival grounds, honoring those who have faithfully served our nation. Entry to the program is free, and festival activities will resume at 9:30 a.m.
In addition, Community Chronicles, chaired by Stacey Judice, announced that the September issue will be distributed beginning September 8.
Faith and Heritage
A special celebration is on the horizon as Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church prepares to mark 100 years of ministry. Festivities include a church fair on September 26–28 and a Gumbo & Cowboy Stew on October 4. This centennial milestone is a reminder of the faith foundation that continues to hold Carencro together.
Honoring Veterans Through Education
The Veterans Day Essay Contest is now underway. Prizes will be awarded through the generosity of local sponsors:

This initiative ensures that our youth not only honor veterans with words but also learn the depth of sacrifice that freedom requires.

Heavenly Father,
We thank You for blessing Carencro with faithful leaders, dedicated business owners, and a community bound together in love and purpose. We lift up the Carencro Business Association, its members, and the work they do to build a thriving local economy. May every effort they make be guided by wisdom, fairness, and service.
Bless our local leaders and elected officials with discernment, strength, and compassion as they make decisions that impact our families and businesses. We ask that You unite our community in peace and prosperity, helping us celebrate the victories of today while preparing for the opportunities of tomorrow.
Lord, we pray for the people of Carencro — may they find joy, fellowship, and blessings in every corner of our city. May our businesses flourish, our families thrive, and our community remain a shining example of faith at work.
