A new study from Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Medical University has revealed that algae-based extracts, when added to natural cosmetics, may help protect against inflammation and even cancer. The findings highlight how the wonders of God’s creation—even from the depths of the sea—hold healing properties that can benefit humanity today.
Healing Hidden in Creation
The review examined several forms of algae, including red algae, kelp, green algae, and spirulina, and discovered that their compounds help defend skin cells from oxidative stress, a harmful process linked to both cancer and inflammation. In one instance, a compound from brown algae known as phloroglucinol was shown to inhibit inflammation in human cells. These discoveries remind us of Genesis 1:29, where God declared, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth… they will be yours for food.” His provision extends even to the oceans, where hidden treasures like algae offer protection and healing.
Faith in the Midst of Modern Struggles
In today’s society, many people suffer from skin conditions and the damaging effects of environmental toxins. The rise of cancers and inflammatory diseases often leaves families searching for hope. This research shows that even in the smallest parts of creation, God has placed remedies that can support our health. As Job 12:7-9 reminds us, “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the fish in the sea, and they will inform you… the hand of the Lord has done this.”
