“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” Matthew 6:25
In this verse, Jesus speaks directly to one of our deepest struggles—worry. Whether it’s finances, health, family, or the future, anxiety can quietly rule our hearts. But Jesus calls us to a different way. He invites us to look at life through the lens of trust, not fear.
When He says, “Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” He reminds us that God, who gave us life itself, will surely provide for our needs. Worry shrinks our vision, making us forget the One who holds all things together. Faith, however, lifts our eyes to see a Father who knows, cares, and provides.
Today, let this verse be an invitation to release what you’ve been holding so tightly. God isn’t asking you to ignore your needs—He’s asking you to entrust them to Him. When anxiety creeps in, counter it with truth: “My Father knows what I need.”
Prayer:
Father, help me to trade my worry for trust. Remind me today that You are my provider and sustainer. Teach me to rest in Your care. Amen.
